Photography Exhibition “I Am (In)visible”

On 17 November 2022, the opening of the photography exhibition “I Am (In)visible”, featuring residents of the Valakampiai Social Services Home, took place at the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania. The event was attended by Minister of Social Security and Labour Monika Navickienė, representatives of Vilnius City Municipality, residents of the institution who participated in the photo shoot, their friends, and staff members.

Through this exhibition, we aim to draw public attention to the inclusion of people with disabilities in society and to reducing discrimination. The photographs portray people in their everyday lives, capturing their genuine emotions, behaviour, relationships with others, and connection with their surroundings.

The photo shoot for the residents of the Valakampiai Social Services Home was organised by photographer Laurentina Mikšys, who lives abroad. She established a warm connection with the residents and brought them many positive emotions throughout the photo session. We sincerely thank Laurentina and wish her every success in her creative work.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Member of the Seimas Monika Ošmianskienė for her initiative and assistance in organizing the exhibition.

The exhibition will be on display from 17 to 30 November.
