The Solar Power Plant at A. Kojelavičiaus St. 127 Is Now Operational

On 15 July 2022, Valakampiai Social Services Home submitted an application to the Environmental Projects Management Agency (APVA) for support for the use of renewable energy resources to meet the electricity needs of state and municipal institutions, traditional religious communities, religious associations, or centres. Under this application, funding of EUR 66,965.96 was approved for the installation of two solar power plants at A. Kojelavičiaus St. 127 (including part of the pitched roof at A. Kojelavičiaus St. 129) and A. Kojelavičiaus St. 172. The total project value, including five years of technical maintenance of the solar power plants, is EUR 87,345. APVA funding amounts to EUR 66,965.96, representing a funding intensity of 76.66%, while EUR 20,149 is financed from the institution’s Special Programme funds. In June 2023, the installation works for the solar power plant at A. Kojelavičiaus St. 172 were completed, and electricity generation began. The value of this solar power plant is EUR 29,947.50, of which EUR 23,039 was funded by APVA. The solar power plant will cover 89% of the building’s electricity needs and, over the project period of 20 years, will reduce CO₂ emissions by 84 tonnes.

In January 2024, the installation works for the solar power plant at A. Kojelavičiaus St. 127 (including part of the pitched roof at A. Kojelavičiaus St. 129) were completed, and electricity generation began. The total value of the solar power plant is EUR 57,402.40, of which EUR 43,926.96 was funded by APVA. This solar power plant will fully meet the electricity needs of the unit at A. Kojelavičiaus St. 127, while surplus electricity will be used by other units of the institution located in wooded areas where the installation of solar power plants is not feasible. Over the 20-year project period, this solar power plant will reduce CO₂ emissions by 176.46 tonnes.
