On July 4, we welcomed eight colleagues from the “Vija” Social Care Centre in Kaunas. During the meeting, we shared good practices in providing long-term social care services. Together with our colleagues, we discussed the preparation of individual social care plans for residents, the application of resident empowerment methods and crisis de-escalation techniques, the implementation of environmental sustainability initiatives (Valakampiai Social Services Home has installed geothermal heating and solar panels), employee motivation, teamwork, the benefits of cooperation with partners, as well as adopting and applying good practices gained from visits to social service institutions abroad, including in Portugal, Scotland, and Israel.
We sincerely thank our colleagues from the “Vija” Social Care Centre for their openness, willingness to grow and improve, and warm communication.
We are delighted to be able to share good practices and work together to ensure the provision of high-quality social services in Lithuania.
